I’ve decided to ditch using ubuntu on my vps and try out debian
partly to try something new but mainly because the xen hypervisor that the bitfolk servers use does not like the newer versions of ubuntu.

I decided that rather than try to just take it down and rebuild it i’ve rented an extra vps for a month
this way i have a whole month to get my server running just how i want it to before switching over

Blog died for a bit

Last night a load of my posts disapeared and new ones wouldnt show up

tried removing plugins and using default theme as suggested by a wordpress forum admin.

Then this morning my vps died and needed to be rebooted although that may have been unrelated

Turned out to be my wordpress database was corputed but it seems to have repaired ok.

Think i might start keeping backups

where did all my posts go
i made a new post and 6months worth of posts disapeared

i’ve updated wordpress now hopefully it wont happen again

I have finally gotten round to setting up a gallery2 photo gallery for myself

It actually went quite well for a change

it’s currently hammering my server trying to upload all my photos, about time i used more than 0.1% of my bandwidth allocation for a change

I’ve clearly been neglecting the Internet a bit.
I joined facebook, i hate it but it’s taken over part of my life

Yesterday my new girl friend convinced me to go out and finally get some fish to put in my tank, and now she is eating pizza without me, fucking outrage.

Yeah about that i have a new girl friend probably should blog about that at some point, maybe I should wait till I’ve told my mom though, i doubt she’d find this but you never know

Anyway i got 5 little neon tetras.
They have been named Schrödinger, Heisenberg, Fourier, Pascal and Galileo

Hopefully tomorrow i will get some better picks, i am considering setting up an image gallery on my vps

Fish
